Wide Open To The New. How To Create Your Ideal Life

Wide Open

~ Pamela Henry

Wide open
Space of light
My heart overflows
I receive gifts
I receive talents
My journey unfolds
With grace

Expansive, sweeping
My fulfilled purpose awaits
Across the vast meadow
Infinite possibilities
Expand beyond the horizon

As I step into the unknown
I glance behind
I let go of old thoughts
For within me a new idea
Longs to be birthed in this exact moment

I release the burden
A new awareness is guiding me
This light that I am
Leading the way
Into the infinite beyond the infinite meadow
Into the void
Where we play
And laugh
And love

Renewed hope fills the blank canvas
Where once I was trapped
I am free
I am wide open.

Years ago I participated in a photography show called Wide Open. It was a group show packed with inspiration, a collection of brief moments that can only be captured from behind the lens. Each vignette unique to the person who captured it.

Each one of us has our own distinct perspective of the world around us. We capture each moment of our lives as thoughts, feelings and emotions. And it’s these thoughts, feelings and emotions that become the filters through which we interact with the world around us.

Acknowledging this is powerful. When you begin to understand that you are filtering your life based on your past experiences, you realize that you have the power to create your life exactly as you would like it to be. Being wide open to new experiences is the space from which you begin to create your ideal life, the life you’ve always imagined is possible.

Are you willing to step into the new?

Being wide open to the new frees you from the bonds of negativity and thoughts, feelings and emotions that are not aligned with your authentic self. Disconnection from your authentic self separates you from claiming your unique talents and gifts and sharing them with the world.

Do you feel like your dreams are impossible to achieve?

An example from my own life. I was completely disconnected from my creative source and I didn’t even realize it. I had left all my dreams behind believing that I was too old and too overweight to realize them.

When the pain of being cut off from my creative source became bigger than the risk, I decided to step into the new. For me, this was learning new tools and processes to shed the layers of my negative self-talk. When I finally understood that we are all here to share that special something that is unique to each one of us, everything shifted and the floodgates of creativity opened wide.

For some of you, stepping into your power means switching things up in a big way, for others it’s a more subtle change that is required.

Sometimes change happens quickly and sometimes it reveals itself over time. It’s when you become vibrationally aligned with your desire that what you are asking for begins to show up. And this begins with honestly looking at where you’re at and where you want to be.

How To Create Your Ideal Life

I’ve discovered that articulating exactly what I desire to create, by writing it down, is a very powerful first step. When you get clear on what you want, it offers you the opportunity to get real about what is blocking you and change it.

Questions are your friend. Asking powerful questions will not only help you get clear on exactly what you want but reveal the steps on how to get there.

So grab a pen and paper. Here are some questions to help you get started.

  • What does your ideal life look and feel like? Maybe it’s a new home, the book you’ve always wanted to write, a new relationship or more money.
  • What brings you joy? Whatever it is, write it down.
  • What is blocking you from creating the life you desire? Is it fear? Lack of self confidence?
  • What do you need to know to let go of your limiting beliefs?
  • What do you need to know to move forward?

What steps are you willing to take to move forward this week? Please let me know by sharing in the comments below or head over to my Facebook page.
