Be Gentle With Yourself. How To Find Inner Peace

How to Find Inner PeaceGentle Heart

~Pamela Henry

Sweet soul
Whispering words of grace
Touching heartfelt
Compassion within
Self nurturing
Moments of inner peace

Serene reflections
Of light and love
Mirror soft showers of
Infinite expansion
Overflowing into a
Pool of self awareness

Easy moments
Here and now
Drop your arms
Drop your oars

Self love
Resonates within the
Deepest core of
Each precious cell
Guiding you back
To your authentic path

Breathe through
Swirling moments
Of harsh reality
Allow them to dissolve
Into tender moments
Of thankfulness

Will you embrace your
Gentle heart?

Be GentleYou create your life through your thoughts, the words you speak and your actions. If your life is not showing up how you would like it to, asking yourself the three following questions may reveal answers that will help you move forward and claim the life you want to live.

Do you think kind thoughts about yourself?

Do your words reflect your gentle and kind nature?

Do your actions reflect a sense of inner peace?

Unfortunately, we often heap harsh expectations on our shoulders and end up feeling not good enough or other self limiting beliefs. This usually manifests in some form of dissatisfaction in our relationships, our finances, our health or other areas of our lives.

  • Do you put pressure on yourself to be super human?
  • Do you have a recurring sense that you could do more, have more, be more?
  • Do you give yourself a hard time for where you think you should be a this point in your life?
  • Do you regret past choices?
  • Do you live vicariously through reality TV or glossy magazines?
  • Do you look at others and wish you had their life?

Are you looking externally to fill your inner well?

Mass media has contributed to a population that is continually looking outside of itself for feelings of success and well-being. In short, as you look outside yourself to feel whole and alive, you become increasingly disconnected from inner peace and your life purpose. In focusing on the lack of what you don’t have, you create more of not having.

Placing your attention on your external environment most often leads to discontent. If only you made more money, had the perfect relationship, have better behaved kids, were healthier, had your ideal body. If only such and such would happen, life would be somehow better and you would finally be…happy.

At some point you may find yourself longing to know who you really are and for the inner peace that connects you to your life purpose.

Being gentle with yourself is the first step. Cut yourself a break. You are where you are and that’s perfectly fine. Your journey has led you to this exact moment.

When you get real with yourself, it takes the pressure off and allows you to connect with your inner knowing and the next step towards the life you desire. There is a deep sense of relief in honoring yourself by accepting where you are right now.

The sense of inner peace that you experience when you nurture yourself with loving kindness expands your life in magical ways.

How To Connect With Inner Peace

Take ten minutes each day to disconnect from your hectic schedule.

1. Find a place where you can sit without being interrupted.
2. Set your timer for ten minutes.
3. Gently close your eyes and think about the things that bring you joy. This could be anything from the experiences you’ve had with your family, your favorite place or pet. Whatever brings a smile to your face.
4. Allow your heart to tap into the joy of these wonderful moments in your life. Feel your heart expand as you breathe into these joyful memories.
5. When the timer goes off, gently open your eyes and perceive your energy and the energy in the room you’re sitting in. How do you feel after focusing on joy for ten minutes?
6. Write down any thoughts or impressions as you sit in this space of inner peace.

From this place of ease you’ll find your external environment change as you see it from a new perspective. This peaceful energy shifts everything and everyone around you and you may be witness to positive changes in your relationship, your finances, your health or other areas of your life.
