Why Your Feelings Are Important To Your Success

What does success mean to you?

I have come to define success as the day to day practice of committing to the best you can be, which results in creating your desired outcome.

Desire is powerful. Desire is what sparks what you choose to create in your life and it drives your success. It’s what makes you uniquely you. It is the total vibrational alignment with who you really are and is expressed through your gifts and talents. It’s what makes you feel good.

What if success is the result of simply doing things on a daily basis that make you feel good?

If you desire to live a more fulfilling life, setting yourself up for success is essential.

How do you set yourself up for success? I would suggest that committing to a daily practice of consistent action is key to achieving your goals in any area of your life.

Recently I started keeping a daily success log.

This simple daily practice allows me to track those areas of improvement that are necessary to moving forward. It supports me in taking deliberate action towards what I want to create in my life.

How To Create Your Success Log

Grab a piece of paper or open a new document on your computer.

Begin by defining a few areas in your life that you would like to improve.

Along the top of the page write the days of the week. Down the left side of the page write down a few simple tasks that you feel you can commit to doing that will move you towards your goals. Decide whether you will do them every day or several days per week.

For example: Perhaps you would like to be more physically active and are willing to commit to walking for thirty minutes four days per week. In addition you may decide to journal for fifteen minutes every day. You get the idea.

Each day, track your successes by placing a tick beside the item as you complete it for that day.

There’s something about making a commitment to yourself in writing that keeps you accountable and on track. As the page begins to fill, it becomes an affirmation of how much you are accomplishing towards your objectives.

I’ve learned that starting with a realistic list is the best way to keep yourself accountable and generate feelings of success.

I exuberantly began with a list of nine items, which was totally unrealistic for me. It’s easy to be over zealous in the beginning and create an over enthusiastic list. As I learned, creating a doable list will set you up for success. Better to add to your log as you go rather than set yourself up for feelings of failure by adding too many items as you begin.

Acknowledge and celebrate your successes. The joy of celebration raises your vibration and attracts more success to you.

Do you have a daily practice that helps you move towards your goals? I’d love to hear about it. Please share your thoughts below.
